Microsoft® SQL Server™ 2005 Coming Soon - Sign Up for Beta Test Today

We are pleased to announce the addition of Microsoft’s Premier database, SQL Server, to our Windows .NET hosting platform. SQL Server expands the range of applications available to you. Offered on Windows Premium hosting plans, it includes up to four database instances and up to 200MB total data storage. Additional storage is available for an additional fee.

The SQL Server database feature includes a full suite of web-based administrative tools. Using the administrator, users can execute a TSQL script, easily add or modify database schema, and make backup copies of a database ready for download.

We are now taking applications to Beta test MSSQL Server from website owners and developers on our Windows platform. To apply, please go to the SQL Server Tab in the User Interface tool bar in the Concentric Center. Please email questions about the Beta test to mssql_beta@concentric.com.

DNS Management: Specialized Domain Manager Plans

Many of our customers use Concentric DNS Manager to configure DNS settings for domain names (where Concentric nameservers have domain authority). The default mode of the DNS Manager tool provides the most commonly used features, such as: Address (A) records, Mail Exchanger (MX), and CNAME entries.

The advanced mode is ideal for DNS administrators who want the ability to manage zone transfers so that Concentric nameservers can provide “Secondary DNS” or “slave” DNS services to a nameserver hosted elsewhere. In advanced mode, administrators can also use this powerful tool to enter Pointer (PTR) or Text (TXT) records. DNS Manager changes are updated four (4) times every hour.

DNS Manager is available free of charge for most Concentric service plans. You can manage DNS for multiple domains by simply adding them as domain aliases.

For those who need to manage tens or hundreds of domains, we offer specialized Domain Manager Plans. All plans include DNS Manager and additional domain aliases. Domain Manager Plans are affordable and make managing multiple domains Impossibly Easy®.

Plan pricing and allocations:

  • Domain Manager Basic - $7.95 MRC, 5 users, 30 domains
  • Domain Manager Professional - $24.95 MRC, 10 users, 100 domains
  • Domain Manager Enterprise - $59.95 MRC, 20 users, 300 domains

Add a new domain at any time. Additional aliases can be added for only $0.50/alias/mo (a 75% savings on our normal add-on price). Private Domain Registration and popular auto-renew may also be added to any specialized Domain Manager Plan.

Consolidating Existing Domains

If you manage multiple domains across different Concentric accounts you may want to consolidate them under one Domain Manager account. To request this service, the account owner of each of the accounts must contact us using the Contact Customer Care form in the Concentric Center.

New Process Automation Tool for UNIX and Windows – Concentric Script Scheduler

Running your Internet presence often requires a fair amount of administrative work. Concentric now provides powerful tools to help with many of these tasks. With Script Scheduler, Concentric users can automate actions to occur at specified times. These actions can run scripts, send out email, and do other things, such as:

  • Rotate internal logs
