Senior User Interface Developer
Sr. Software Engineer (Email)
Concentric, an XO Communications Service, is looking to grow its Email team with a Senior Email Engineer.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
As a Sr. Software Engineer, you will be responsible for development and release of features and technology associated with Concentric's email system. We are looking for someone with significant experience in designing and implementing major provider email systems (not simply single-enterprise IT email systems). The ideal candidate will have experience at all layers of email services - MTA, MDA, storage, filtering, capacity planning, etc.
The successful candidate will have great technical depth and breadth to span our applications, server and web service as well as the ability to understand Concentric's complex architecture and continue to update and expand it are key in this position. This is not a job of simply installing the latest off-the-shelf technology; we write real code for a highly scalable, reliable email system.
Skills:
- Advanced C/Unix programming
- Multithreaded programming highly desirable
- Scripting/sysadmin experience
- Capacity planning
- Understanding of other commercial email platforms (esp. Exchange)
- Experience in a 7x24 service provider environment
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience)

- Experience designing and implementing an email platform for a major service provider
- Experience with managing and extending mail platforms, including integrating/developing filtering, proxies, security, etc.
- Good development-process skills: structured design documentation, build processes, coding styles, testing frameworks, etc.
- A proven track-record of technical leadership, including responsibility for design or architecture
- Ability to multi-task in a very fluid environment, an excellent problem solver, able to quickly understand legacy code

Channel Marketing Manager for IT Managed Services Company (San Jose Downtown)
Channel Marketing Manager - General Summary
The Channel Marketing Manager will be responsible for driving significant sales and revenue through the Concentric indirect channel. The Channel Marketing Manager will be required to recruit and grow the channel, develop training and sales support programs for resellers and manage direct sales operations. The ideal candidate will be able to identify strategic business opportunities, model future financial revenue based on developed business, and contribute to marketing and sales strategies.
A minimum of 5 years channel experience with a proven track record of exceeding sales/revenue quotas is required.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Identify, target and develop sales channel to meet or exceed monthly and annual revenue quotas.
- Lead, support, and execute on the marketing the reseller program to VARS, systems integrators, ISPs, and Telcos to resell our hosting and SaaS products.
- Manage projects that involve cross-functional teams.
- Analyze the market and identify target resellers and communicate the value of our solutions to both ‘C-level’ and technical staff customers.
- Develop and host compelling, value-focused web demos and sales presentations
- Develop highly productive reseller relationships so that partners become self-sufficient in marketing our products.
- Develop and execute sales and technical training programs to enable our resellers to successfully resell our products.
- Manage, track and report highest priority action items, results, business plan development, marketing-related successes and accurate reseller forecasts, sales.
- Monitor the performance of marketing support within the target market segments.
- Implement business controls to maximize channel effectiveness.
- Implement partner channel sales, account management, and partner support functions within Telesales team.
- Implement programs so partners readily contact Concentric Telesales for sales support and to assist in closing sales
- Use success-based growth to justify new staff hires to increase channel support functions.
- Maximize sales of Concentric services from XO Business Partner channel
- Review existing partners (Private Label and Co brand) and determine appropriate tactics to maximize revenue growth while managing costs, including ongoing maintenance.
- Develop and adapt pricing as well as go-to-market models, support deal negotiations to maximize relationships to up sell additional products to existing resellers, negotiate pricing for larger or Private Label partners to maximize results and revenue to Concentric.
- Provide ongoing feedback to senior management team on market directions, product/solution enhancement and requirements, competition, licensing/pricing policies, and partner competency and selection.
Qualifications:
- Extensive experience in software sales, systems integration delivery/business development or channel marketing management
- Successful track record of recruiting new Partners and generating new business
- Strong account development and telesales skills
- Solution development experience in a software/services environment
- Possess a strategic understanding of the hosting and messaging industries and Partner community

Technical/Marketing Writer
Concentric, the Hosting Business Unit of XO Communications, is looking to grow its Marketing team. The Technical/Marketing Writer is responsible for creating and maintaining all customer-facing product documentation, user guides and online FAQs, for all DNS, email, messaging/collaboration, Web hosting and other value-added services. The ideal candidate must have an established track record and recent writing samples of user manuals or documentation for non-sophisticated users for using a technical product or service. Besides being responsible for user guides and FAQs, the Technical Writer will also author marketing-oriented technical white papers on various Concentric services and features, as educational pieces.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Create/update all product FAQs into a new online documentation structure that provides easier access and searching.
- Work closely with the cross-functional product team (product management, engineering, customer care) to improve the legibility, organization, and presentation of all online FAQs.
- For new product launches, work with the product team to provide all user documentation, including FAQs, context-sensitive quick tips, and customer notices announcing the new products/features.
- Work with product managers and engineers to author technical white papers and provide educational materials for the Concentric web site and to highlight and promote our advantages and benefits.
- If Concentric purchases new customer bases, write all customer migration notifications required for instructing these new customers how to transition to Concentric services.
- Contribute articles to customer newsletters and blogs on Concentric services, including usage tips and detailed feature explanations for customers.

Senior User Interface Developer
Concentric, an XO Communications Service, is expanding its Web Hosting team. We are currently looking for a User Interface Developer to assist us in further developing our patented, Metra hosting platform. We provide our hosting customers with an integrated system offering website hosting, email, webmail, spam filtering, multiple security options, safe development environments, unified authentication, account management, ecommerce, third party applications, and much more. We are constantly working on new features and functionality to improve our customer's experience.
The successful candidate will work closely with product managers, engineers, other user interface developers to create new product offerings and to improve existing ones. This is a large, complex system that requires experience with Web page scripting, client-server development and communication with databases and external systems.
Required:
- 5-7+ years experience with UNIX
- Strong programming skills in PHP and/or Perl, C/C++, JavaScript, AJAX, JSON (PHP and C strongly preferred)
- Proficient with W3C standards (HTML, DHTML, CSS, XML, XSL, DOM)
- Significant Web application design experience with layout, appearance, and usability issues
- Experience with architecting, building and maintaining large GUI systems including understanding of the importance of scalability
- Knowledge of cross-browser compatibility issues
- Good communications and teamwork skills
Preferred:
- Experienced with source control, project management, code release systems
- Human-computer interaction background
- Familiarity with database systems and SQL
- Experience with cobranding/private-label issues
- Familiarity with open source tools
Background:
