GroupWare Connector Beta

In this era of flextime, telecommuting and mobile workers, it is important to stay in touch with your office no matter where you are. Concentric^® now offers a beta version of GroupWare Connector for Outlook^® so you can increase your productivity even when you’re out of the office. Concentric’s GroupWare Connector for Outlook works like a Microsoft^® Exchange environment and includes powerful collaboration features:

• Synchronize your online GroupWare data with Outlook 98, 2000, XP/2002, 2003, and 2007
• Create personal and shared calendars
• Select shared contacts for meetings or emails via our LDAP Server (Lightweight Directory Access Protocol).  LDAP will allow you to access your company’s shared contacts or Global Address Book
• Share folders so your team can collaborate on files and projects
• Manage notes and tasks to  keep you organized

The GroupWare Connector captures the objects (tasks, meeting requests, and other information) created by email clients and inserts them into Concentric’s GroupWare database via IMAP (Internet Message Access Protocol). Objects added via Outlook or the GroupWare user interface are automatically synchronized using IMAP as the transport protocol. The drawing below illustrates how this works.

Existing customers can obtain a beta copy of the GroupWare Connector for Outlook^® by having their Master, Domain, or User Admin enable the connector if they are using Personal Mode or by selecting Collaborative Mode.
