New! Web Applications for Windows
Ecommerce, Blogs, Bulletin Boards, Photo Albums and more for Windows - Now Available!
Windows hosted accounts can now take advantage of the Web Applications that have only been available to standard hosting accounts. These features include ecommerce applications, online photo albums, weblogs (blogs), bulletin boards and more. We've made it easy to install features that can make your Web site more appealing and useful. Web site applications are well documented, easy to use and offer great functionality for Web site novices and developers alike. These features include:
Ecommerce Tools:
- osCommerce - a full featured and easily customizable ecommerce application.
Communication Tools:
- PHP-Nuke - Used to set up a Web site that is driven by data that is stored and managed using MySQL.
- phpBB - A bulletin board system based on PHP and MySQL.
- WordPress - A web blogging tool to create your own blog.
- Sharing Tools
- DAlbum -An online photo gallery and album; no database is required.
- PHP iCalendar - Allows for online display of iCal formatted calendar files.
- Coppermine - An online photo gallery and album built to use PHP and MySQL.
Business Tools:
- phpMyAdmin - A web-based MySQL database administration tool.
- dotProject - A web-based project management framework with file management, project tracking and discussion boards.
Each installation wizard will walk you through the process of setting up -- including activating a MySQL database if one is required. Customer Support is available to help with the installation process, but not with customizing the Web Application. Detailed application support can be found at the home page for the particular application.
To access the installation wizards, login into your account and go to Publishing | Web Site Applications.
There is no extra cost to use these applications. However, since these applications will be using your account's allocation of resource units, disc space and traffic, you should confirm that you have adequate resources to run each application. Resource units are a way of tracking how much "computer processing" time is used to run certain applications. Generally, more resource units will be used with more complex applications and also if these applications are run more often. The standard allocation of resource units for an account should normally be enough to cover the normal use of an application. With heavy use of a Web Application, more resources may be added at an additional fee. As we do with Web Site Traffic, we will notify the account's master administrator via email if the account is trending toward exceeding its Resource Unit allocation.

Important! Coming Soon! New Navigation and Menu Structure
By the end of October, we will be rolling out a new tabbed menu and navigation structure in the Concentric Center. The changes will make it easier to find information and services. The existing drop down menus will be replaced by a new and easier to use tab menu structure, with all menu options just one click away. Each user will be able to personalize their menus and put frequently used tabs on top. As the image below demonstrates, we are only making changes to the menus; no applications or tool layouts will change as part of this.
The new navigation and menu structure includes:
- Clicking the 'home' image will always bring you back to the main page
- Tabs and sub-tabs that make navigation easy. Color changes make it easy to know what tab is currently active. Sub-tabs make it easy to jump from one task to the next.
- A Menu Map that puts every selection one click away. Simply hover over the Menu Map selector to enlarge the map. The Menu Map has an intuitive search function that will search all Menu's and FAQ's.
- Ability to customize the tab structure as often as you like. All tabs will always be available in the Menu Map
- Ability to toggle the arrows to make sub-tabs visible until you close them.
Look for more information about the new tab navigation and menu structure in the "What's New" section on the homepage of Concentric Center.

Important! Coming Soon! New Authorization for Account Login
At the end of October we will also be changing our authentication page to access the Concentric Center. Whereas currently you enter your user id and password into a popup window from your browser, the new authentication page will accept your user id and password directly on the page itself. This improves security and performance and will allow us to offer enhanced Concentric Center features in the future. The new login page will look like this:
To ensure security and defeat potential 'phishing' scams (where an email or other solicitation encourages you to enter your password on a webpage that is NOT the Concentric Center), please ensure that the URL starts with https://register... before you enter your credentials. The https://, and the lock icon in your browser, will ensure that you're connected securely via SSL.
Please note that the option to log into Concentric Center without using SSL will no longer be available and that a session, if left idle for more than an hour, will automatically time out. Also note that the 'relogin' link in the upper right corner of the Concentric Center will no longer exist; the 'logout' link will now fill both roles, as it takes you back to the login page, and 'logout' will no longer require dismissing an additional pop-up browser window.

Did You Know? Domain Renewal Options Can Be Done At Any Time
You can now renew your domain name at any time in the Concentric Center. We have a variety of domain name renewal options, whether you want to plan well in advance or wait till you get an expiration notice and scramble at the last minute to get this done. The domain name renewal page in Concentric Center lists all of your renewal options for all domain names and domain aliases.
You can extend the life of a domain at any time, by going to Control Panel | Manage Domain | Domain Information. This section of Concentric Center has a bunch of other domain name services including:
- Domain Renewal - to renew the domain registration name(s) and/or domain alias(es) for your domain name or any domain alias defined in your account. You can set your domain name to 'autorenew'.
- Whois Lookup - to update your domain registration information in the Whois database
- DNS Lookup - to display information on the authoritative names servers for your domain and the MX record
- Move Domain - move your domain to us by updating its name servers and technical contact
