• Hide Your Email Server Behind Our Perimeter Email Protection (PEP): By routing email through PEP servers first, you can completely hide your email server behind our perimeter and protect your email infrastructure so that spammers cannot spam your server directly.  No MX records will appear in public DNS lookups for your mail server. And, unlike premise-based solutions, PEP stops dangerous spam and viruses from getting behind your firewall and infecting your network.
• User Validation: PEP lets you upload your list of valid user email addresses. User Validation then filters and reduces the amount of email your server must process by at least 50%. 
• Block Spam and Junk Email: Concentric updates junk and virus filters automatically to deal with the latest threats. The filters are located on our servers so there is no software to purchase, download or update on your email server or individual users’ workstations. Administrators can configure account-wide or user-specific settings for handling mail when junk or viruses are detected.  Junk mail can be quarantined and periodically checked by users via a web interface, or tagged with a modified subject line and delivered to the mail server for rules processing.  Virus handling includes stripping the attachment and notifying the recipient, as well as other options that administrators or users may choose to configure. PEP users can take advantage of the Premium Junk Filter, which enables individual users or administrators to “train” their own personal filtering knowledge base to filter mail according to their preferences. 
• Virus and Attachment Filtering: PEP virus filtering ensures viruses, worms, and Trojans are prevented from infecting your computers. PEP virus filters are continually updated from multiple sources so that we can protect you and your users from the latest security threats.
• Email Delivery Back Up: If mail cannot be delivered to your email server for whatever reason – a server crash, a network outage, or a power hit to your building – it is queued on Concentric systems for up to five days. PEP continuously tries to re-deliver the mail so that you won’t miss any mission-critical business email. 
• Permitted, Blocked Sender, and Domain Lists: Administrators can white-list or black-list sender addresses or domains for the entire account or for a particular user's email. Individual users with more complex junk mail filtering requirements can be given permission to manage their own settings, which many anti spam services don't offer.
  
  
• Real-time Monitoring and Incoming Email Analysis: PEP includes reports of your email traffic and handling. Logs are available if you need to see message details or statistics about your email traffic patterns and the amount of filtered spam.  Administrators may receive daily, weekly or monthly detailed, HTML email reports that provide summary and detail information on all inbound mail activity for all domain names associated with an account, so you can see how well PEP is working for you.  Additionally, administrators can generate the latest version of any of those reports in real-time. 
•  Attack Protection: Malicious attacks from denial-of-service (DoS), to directory harvesting and dictionary attacks account for 80-90% of spam volume. PEP protects your email users from these considerable vulnerabilities.

Flexibility and Control: Administrators can configure junk and virus filtering on a group basis and manage it centrally (using the same settings for all users), allow users to configure their own settings, or implement some combination of both.
