SAN JOSE, CA - XO Communications, Inc. (OTCBB: XOCM.OB) today announced the appointment of Barbara Branaman as vice president and general manager of its hosting business unit. In separate yet related news, XO Communications also announced a re-launch of the Concentric brand for the company's shared web hosting services, as a drive toward increasing hosting market share among small and medium sized businesses (SMBs).

Since joining the company in 1998, Branaman has held various marketing positions including group manager for small and medium business hosting and web manager of user experience. Prior to joining XO, Branaman was an independent consultant bringing to bear more than 12 years experience gained while serving in various marketing, engineering, user interface design and technical writing positions at Sprint, Teknekron Communications Systems, Rolm and IBM.
Branaman holds an undergraduate degree in Chinese language and literature from Oberlin College where she was a member of the Phi Beta Kappa honor society, and an MBA from Thunderbird.
